Novel Critique - Puppies, Dogs, and Blue Northers

In memory of the famous film critic, Roger Ebert, who died last week, we are going to critique our latest novel.  Roger Ebert was famous for his two thumbs up, thumbs in the middle, or two thumbs down movie reviews.

Give me your opinion of the novel with either two thumbs up, in the middle, or down and your reasons why.  You may respond to prior comments.

Have fun with it!

    1. @Anthony,

      I really liked the dramatic ending...reminded me a lot of Marley & Me. Too bad you didn't enjoy it...so two thumbs down?

  7. it was kinda confusing in some parts but the end was sad. I don't like how every dod book gas a dog die at end of it like stone fox. it was a preaty good book at the rising action.

    1. @Loganator,

      I agree! You think they could make one happy dog book :)

    2. My class is finishing up "Where the Red Fern Grows" next week. We then follow up with Gordon Korman's "No More Dead Dogs." It makes a hysterically funny counterpoint to the traditional bawl-your-eyes-out animal novel. I highly recommend it!

    3. Jodi, we red No More Dead Dogs last year and loved it! Next year is "Where the Red Fern Grows" my favorite book ever..tear tear. How do I follow your blog? I didn't see a follow button.

      We just started The Giver :)

  10. @Jacob

    I agree with Jacob, I thought the ending was very appropriate since it was the whole life span of cookie. We went from birth...literally all the way to death

    @Sophie

    I do kind of see your point Sophie that it was kind of a different tone to the book until the very end where in red fern it was building to that point
