Parent Resources: Turn Your Negatives into Positives
Parents, From Psychology Today, an interesting article about personal reflection.
"Playing the blame game? Pointing the finger at yourself can strengthen your character." http://ow.ly/jTT2z
This made me think about when we don't win a sporting event that we many times blame the "ref" and not our ourselves. Our children look to us and learn from our examples, be they success or failures, and need to know how to handle both. Our kids need to look for only one source of perfection (guess who), and the rest of us (yes even parents) fall short, but hopefully we reflect, take ownership, learn, improve, then live to sin another day.
I couldn't agree more. It is such a sad statement of society today that we can't handle losing...especially when our children are involved. I think society, and our school, can learn a lot from this. We should all take ownership rather than blaming others.
