Parent Resources: 7 Habits of a Highly Effective Teen

Parents,

Oh the teenage years!  A short, interesting article I found on highly effective teenage habits.

Would love to see ideas/suggestions/thoughts from parents of teens in the comments!

  1. I had read Covey's 7 Habits many years ago and am unfortunately a Covey drop in/out i.e. good at times and not so good other times. This really is true and reinforces the fact that as a parent we should always strive for living a Christian life and be a good example and witness for ourselves, our children, families, and others (and Covey's 7 habits are already in the "Good Book"). I am glad that you stay aware and help with that reinforcement on a daily basis at school, and we here may fall short, but are always trying.

  2. Totally agree with the assessment of Covey. I have gone back and forth on the books. Ultimately, like you said there is some good and some not so good. I did like this overview as a reminder of some simple things to do.

Have you read the Five Love Languages for Teens?

    1. No, all copies are out at the Friendswood Library. I will add it to my list or buy it at the Book Fair at Barnes and Noble.
